This weekend was wild. It was my fraternities "formal" and we took a 6-hour trip. It was my first road trip with Maddy my girlfriend. The first night was awesome. There were over 40 of us staying in one house with no responsibilities or anywhere to be. We drank beer, told stories, and just caused some commotion the entire night. After Maddy and I went to bed we were woken up by the fire alarms. Apparently, someone had vaped too close to a smoke detector and every alarm in the house was blaring. We tried to turn them off but had no idea how. Eventually, the FIRE DEPARTMENT showed up and let us know that the panel to stop everything was on the outside. Either way, they were super polite and had some good stories because apparently, this was a common occurrence in the neighborhood. The next morning the property manager showed up and told us we had to leave since no one was over the age of 25. The house was cleaned up and in perfect shape, but he had a job to do and couldn't make any exceptions. We tried to find hotels, but no one could accommodate all of us. We made a couple of calls and luckily one of our newest members had a cool barn and he said it would be okay if we stayed there. So everyone packed all of their stuff and drove 6 hours back to his house. The Barn was awesome. It had a huge stripper pole, the walls were lined with cool hats, and it had these huge party speakers. It was perfect. We all got dressed in our formal gear and partied with his parents until the sun came up. It was one of the most hectic weekends, but it ended up being one of the best parties and moments I've ever been a part of.

This was my final Decathlon of college. Leading up to this meet was rough. I suffered a third-degree burn on my jump leg right by my calf and was dealing with a sprained ankle. This was by far the most challenging meet of my life. Day 1 was forgettable and Day 2 was just as bad. It started off by warming up for an hour in the pouring rain before officials delayed the start of the meet. I went back to the hotel and dried off my clothes, but by the time the race started back up it was pouring again. Every inch of my body was soaked. You can even see the water coming off of the hurdles. The discus wasn't much better since the entire ring was up to my ankles in water. By the time it was all said and done I was finishing last in the 1500m around 9:00 pm. It was a sour way to end my senior year, but I'm proud of how far I got and thankful to my coaches for believing in me.

And just like that, college is over. Shout-out to these guys for making it an amazing four years.
