This was the summer after graduating high school. We were all getting ready for college and convinced our parents to let us go on a camping trip. We picked a random spot in Colorado, packed up our tents, and a trailer (thanks Pac), and took off for the week. After an entire day of driving, we finally got to our campsite just in time to see the most beautiful sunset. There was a problem though. The sun was setting, and none of our stuff was set up. It took a few hours, but eventually, we got everything situated. We sat around the fire making dinner, I burned myself and dropped some of our food, not a good start. Over the next couple of days, we hung out around the campsite and went whitewater rafting, which was awesome. We also couldn't leave Colorado without hiking. But hiking up a normal trail would be too easy and too boring. So we found a creek and started following it upstream. Eventually, it opened up into this huge pasture where we took a picture on one of the massive rocks.

Rocks were flying everywhere and it was probably one of the more dangerous things we've ever done. After an hour of climbing, we reached the top and it felt like you could see the whole world. We hung out up here for a while and just enjoyed the view. Things got crazy on the hike down. We realized it was a lot steeper and with rocks flying everywhere, we made our way down. There was one point where Juan rolled down the mountain for a little bit which was crazy to see. I remember not being able to keep my feet and just sliding down with no way to stop. I hit a couple of trees on my way down but surprisingly we made it all the way to the bottom without any broken bones.

Ozarks was my favorite memory of freshman year. Spring semester I decided to take a leap and join a fraternity. That ended up being one of the best decisions I made. I jumped completely in. moving into the fraternity house and trying to meet as many people as possible. I'm so glad I took that risk because I met some of the most amazing people and made some of the best memories. This picture was taken during the yearly Ozarks trip where we spend a long weekend on the river. Hands down one of the most fun weekends I've ever had. I ended up transferring out after the year, but I'm thankful to have met all of these people.
